Raising funds for you! Springfield High School activities are meaningful to both the student body and the community. All extra-curricular activities are an extension of our classrooms and offer students another avenue for achievement.     National Honor Society (NHS)

    The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization that recognizes students for outstanding scholarship, leadership, service, and character. At Springfield, NHS members are often seen volunteering at community events, tutoring peers, and helping organize school-wide service projects.

    Business Professionals of America (BPA)

    Business Professionals of America is a national career and technical student organization that prepares students for success in the business world through leadership, competition, and real-world skills.

    At Springfield High School, BPA members explore careers in business, marketing, finance, technology, and management while building professional skills that last a lifetime.

    As a member, you can:

    • Compete in regional, state, and national competitions
    • Participate in leadership conferences and workshops
    • Gain experience in public speaking, interviewing, and digital communication

    PR & Communications Student Assistant (Volunteer Internship)

    Work alongside the district’s Community Relations Director on real-world school communications. This non-paid role is perfect for students interested in communications, public relations, photography, journalism, event planning, videography, or social media.

    Students will help capture events, gather student stories, and contribute to district content featured on websites, newsletters, and social media.

    Perks:

    • Receive mentorship and behind-the-scenes experience
    • Build a portfolio with credited work
    • Flexible schedule based on events
    • Counts toward volunteer/service hours
    • Great rĂ©sumĂ© builder for media, PR, or marketing careers

    Local Organizations Looking for Student Volunteers

    Want to give back to the community beyond school walls? Here are a few local organizations that welcome student volunteers:

    • Holland Springfield Rotary Club – Assist with community events, park clean-ups, and drives
    • Local Nursing Homes – Volunteer with activities, visits, or entertainment
    • Springfield Township Fire Department – Youth volunteer programs and public safety education
    • Holland Branch Library – Book buddies and summer reading program helpers
    • Springfield Elementary PTOs – Help with family nights, carnivals, and fundraising events
    • Toledo Humane Society – Great for animal lovers; opportunities include dog walking and adoption events
